You will probably find something more in the centre/at the beach, but then you will miss cheap bike hires with pretty decent bikes, an awesome breakfast buffet and the possibilty to ccol off in a pool after a hot day out! We absolutely recommend Hai Au hotel!
The staff are excellent, taking time to learn name and make sure everything is ok. Room good with good size and all facilities you want. Had mosquito nets which is the first time I see in SE Asia! Breakfast was the best included one we have had here too, lots of options. Location was excellent, 5 mins to old town walking. I really couldn't fault the hotel it'self at all! Bus we used with them to Hue was a sleeper which we did not know and did not need for a 150km journey! Bikes are in bad shape.
Nice swimming pool area. Breakfast is really good and there were variety of choices. 10 min by walk to the old town. If you are traveling further by open bus, I don't recommend to buy tickets from hotel. Company they are using isn't that good(the Sinh cafe opentour) and prices were also quite high.
We stayed three nights, very nice staff always helpful and more like a family then hotel - by the way the best tailor of the town is just in front and we bought any suits and dresses there :) We are from Cologne/Germany
Great place. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The staff refer to each guest by name and offer reasonably priced and comfortable accommodations! Definitely recommend you stay here if you are ever in Hoi An. It's a little bit of a walk for the main attractions, but not prohibitively so.

The staff here are amazing so friendly and willing to help with your travel plans. Room was clean and bathroom nice. Located close to everything. The free breakfast was the best we have had in all of Vietnam. No issues with our stay. Would stay here again.
Amazing, super-helpful and friendly staff.

The reception staff make a big effort to remember your name, even if they weren't the one checking you in, they still know your name. They are very helpful with booking bus tickets and tours, but can be a bit pushy to use their affiliated tailor across the road (much more expensive than the ones in town). Remember to eat in town since there aren't many options near the hotel.
Reception Staff very welcoming, friendly and always remembered our name- nice touch. The Hotel is a five minute walk to the old quarter and a 15 minute bike ride to the beach, bike hir is about 60p a day & motorbike hire is only £3-5 per day More info on local shops and beach options would be a great help
I stayed at Hai Au for 4 nights in February 2014. The staff are extremly friendly and very helpful. They do not push you into taking any of their tours or going to their tailor. The room was a nice size with a big bed, a large cupboard and a balcony. The bathroom was very nice and had a working bath. The water was hot. The hotel was also well located, about 5 minutes walk from the old town. The included breakfast was nice - a large buffet with eggs freshly cooked and lots of fresh fruit.
This is a great hotel - clean, spacious, friendly, convenient location. It was a real pleasure to stay here, and the staff went out of their way to help out my girlfriend and I book a last minute train ticket. Would definitely stay here again.
