Outsatnding staff, comfortable room, great breakfast, location ok. One of the best places we stayed at in Vietnam in terms of value for mnoey.

The most expensive hotel we stayed in and, unfortunately, our least favourite out of seven. All the budget hotels we stayed in (including another in Hoi An, I had decided to upgrade for Christmas: a mistake!) were cleaner, friendlier and in a better location. The Hai Au was never an unpleasant experience and the staff were lovely (albeit slightly frosty when we skipped their Xmas buffet party); but, purely objectively, you can do better elsewhere!
