My friends had a terrible experience on May 03rd with a guy that works at night: they requested assistance with the luggage early in the morning and he simply got mad - he threw the bags 5 floors down and yelled at everyone. He could simply had told them he was unable to do that. But all other people from staff were very nice.

The staff is fantastic. True New Yorkers. Cool place to stay. Positive vibes. Steps from the 1 train. xi'an famous food - across the street may be the best food I've ever eaten..in the world..and it's cheap. I loved it the hotel. Very cool.

The heat was very high and sometimes even cracking the window was not enough to make the room comfortable. I understand that it is better to be warm than cold, but maybe you could dial back a little. Sometimes the towels were changed but no face cloth was offered.

This is NOT a hostel. This is a hotel. If you are traveling with only 2 people, that's fine, but the biggest room they have only has 2 beds in it. If you are travelling with 3+ people that are not related...find another hostel. The other thing that was not mentioned on their website is that there is NO ELEVATOR! The lobby is up flights of stairs & then the rooms are also up more flights of stairs. It wouldn't normally be a problem, but we had two people in our party with foot and knee problems!

Noisy room (squealing pipes). Otherwise good place to stay to see the sites, decent wifi and near subway, friendly staff and cheap for New York.

The best place for lodging in all of the city! Hands down, no exceptions. The staff, the atmosphere, the location (subway and bus to airport are right out the front door), convenience to nearby shops/grocery/liquor/restaurants, and the overall vibe is awesome. I wish I could name everyone by memory, but Charisma, Julianne, Max and Mike D were awesome. I will definitely return the next time I visit the city!
