Ideal location, close to the city. Power points in the lockers are ideal but they are the only ones in the room so can't charge your phone right next to you in bed. Loud speakers in every room which make announcements which is annoying. Staff really helpful and friendly. Hard to make friends easily as seems very cliquey with those that have stayed long term. Cleaners everywhere, esp in kitchen so spotless most of the time. Not much atmosphere though.

Many services available but not very motivating - impersonal / cold / too professional staff Way too expensive internet - it should be free!! Smelly and messy room and noisy doors Great Boot Camp with Charlie!! Great kitchen!! Great and clean toilets!! Nice study room! Vast library

Beds were terrible and the place was awfully cold. Most hostels along my East coast travels offered free wifi for the price charged - it's also 2013, people travel and expect free or affordable wifi access. Overall, very mediocre and average experience with a textbook definition of a 'hostel factory'.

is it possible to provide the free wifi in the hostel? Because it is very inconvenience for the new travelers who just come from the other countries.

Reception staff 10/10.....always helpful and smiling! Bit more effort needed on the cleaning side, i.e. tell cleaning staff to get right under beds when hoovering...

Awesome hostel, with many activities within it. Going to Melbourne now means staying at Urban Central.

Really nice big room with big lockers. Staff were very helpful and was pretty clean. Main downsides were people didn't seem to wash things up properly and the girls showers had no locks on the door and you could see the person in the shower next door through the clear walls!!! Also it seemed pretty expensive to do washing and the Internet was $4 for one hour. Was a really nice hostel though and really centrally located and easy to get around as trams and bus stops outside.

Really unimpressed with this hostel. No character, no soul - it feels like a hostel factory. I thought it was very bad value for money, being one of the more expensive hostel's around and the rooms are VERY basic. The bathrooms weren't cleaned regularly enough, with masses of hair left blocking the drains in the showers, bins overflowing in the shower area and toilet paper left strewn through the toilet cubicles. There were 3 extra people sleeping on the floor in my 4 bed dorm. Linen is clean.

With a room facing out over the bar on the first floor it was very noisy until very early in the morning but the facilities are excellent, the location good and the rooms and showers clean. The lockers with internal powerpoint are a fantastic idea, every hostel should have these. Will happily go back, but I'll ask for a bed on the other side of the hostel next time.

just not a pretty place. Quite a drink trashy place, its a party hostel in my experience. The air con saved me in my room, it was a bloody hot night. The location and security is fine, but yeah, I couldn't wait to leave really based on atmosphere - it has none. a very clinical hostel with very outdated bathrooms. Everything seem clean enough.

After staying in over 17 hostels while traveling the easy coast this hostel was recommended to us, it was by far the nicest and cleanest hostel we have stayed in. Only thing was te Internet was expensive however mc donnels across the road has free wifi which was reli cool. Would definitely recommend to friends as myself and friend really loved our stay. Each room also had individual lockers with a PowerPoint which makes such a difference.

I only spent 1 night here so it was hard to gauge, however from what I experienced it was a good hostel. Rooms were clean, security was good and staff were friendly.

Good stay overall but a few of the staff had serious attitude issues. Not very professional at times! Also the wifi/Internet is a pure rip off! I have traveled a lot over Australia and even more so throughout europe and Asia and nothing even comes close the the cost of this! It's criminal - I wouldn't pay that much for wifi at a 5* hotel let alone a hostel! It's shameful!!
