We were surprised that the average age was higher than in oher hostels! Nevertheless, the people were still very welcoming and German friendly (love the german football team!) !!!

Julie (owner of Woodquay) was super super helpful in getting us to the airport for our early flight - she drove us because all of the bus companies didn't have service that early and the taxis were super expensive!

The Hostel was full of homeless people and junkies, the receptionist unhelpful and told us he was stoned, the deposit I paid online was not deducted from the price of the room. There was no lock on the door of the ensuite bathroom and the whole place was generally shabby, unclean and uncomfortable. We recieved phonecalls after we checked in asking when we would arrive. We didnt remain for the duration of our stay and dont reccomend this place to anybody, particularly girls travelling alone.

The guy stank and the place sucked. He gave away our room and then charged us more. Charged us our deposit twice. When we tried to explain he was incapable of understanding us (we are native english speakers).

The man at the front desk was clueless about reservations, deposits and room arrangements. I was embarrassed for him! Many of my friends were charged additional fees because he said their deposits didn't count. I'm surprised Hostelworld hasn't dropped this hostel from their list. It's THAT bad!

OUR STAY @ WOODQUAY HOSTEL WAS A TOTAL DISASTER! FIRST OF ALL, WE HAD RESERVED FOR 6 PEOPLE AND THERE WERE ONLY 5 BEDS AVAILABLE. THEY PROPOSED US THEY COULD PUT A MATTRESS IN THE RECEPTION (!) TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. WHEN WE ASKED FOR A REFUND FOT THE BED, THE WOMAN ANSWERED REALLY UNPOLITELY AND WE HAD TO DISCUSS 15 MINUTES TO GET 24 EUROS OF REFUND. BUT THIS IS NOT ALL! ONCE WE WENT BACK TO THE ROOM IN THE NIGHT IT WAS STINKING TREMENDOUSLY, LIKE IF THE SEWERS WAS IN THE ROOM! DO NOT GO THERE!

Very bad staff... I have book on hostel world and pay a deposit. When I arrived I need to pay the full price again... They just tell me that they have my booking but I need to pay the full price anyway because they don't get the deposit... so in the end I payed for deposit twice... So It was really expensive for and hostel without even clean sheets...

To begin with we didn't end up staying at this hostel, we arrived sat morning after staying in another hostel the night before. When we arrived at the door we were greeted with a unpleasant smell of sweat and damp, there was noone at reception and i had to ring several times before the manager had came. The manager had came across as a maniac very pushy and in your face explaining things to us like a sergeant major. People hovered about in doorways looking depressed, smelly unclean hostel,
