I thought the hostel was very expensive taking into account the very basic facilities

Owner Comment (Show)
Hi Thank you for staying at Woodquay Hostel. I have noted your comments about the expense. You each paid 23.50 each for your bed. Taking into consideration you stayed on a Saturday night in the Cultural Capital of Ireland the most popular City outsidde of Dublin i think it was not expensive at all. if I take away first the 21% VAT from your payment and taking all other expensive like bedding washing breakfast cleaner Accoutant fees electricity and all other expensive from one of your beds I am left with little which I was getting over 20 years ago and not taking into account my time as I work 16 hours every day I think you got good value. hope thids answers your comments. Kind Regards JULIE owner

Booked an ensuite room - was not given this. Hostel was ok, but would pay the extra few euro for something a bit better. Was glad to be only staying for the one night!

Land Lord was very unpleasant. For a youth hostel, we aren't allowed to talk and he treated us with disrespect. Only one good point, the premises are clean.

Very bad hostel, the owner was upset and nearly violent, just because we wasn't in our room... I definitely don't recommend it.

No-one on the desk after 4am. Which meant that howling drunkards kept making noise for hours uninterrupted.
