Welcome to Tucano House Backpackers! For 19 years, we’ve been spreading joy, sunshine and the best island vibes in Florianópolis — a hostel built on friendship, community and unforgettable experiences.

We’re located on the magical island of Florianópolis (Brazil), owned and operated by a warm and outgoing mix of local & international staff who are passionate about showing you the real Floripa — from hidden beaches and jungle trails to nightlife, culture and delicious food.

We’re located in the heart of Lagoa da Conceição, a beautiful lagoon-side suburb known for its lively atmosphere, delicious restaurants, bars, surf shops and famous nightlife. From here, you're close to everything Floripa is known for — including the iconic Praia Mole and Joaquina, only 10 minutes away by car (or a beautiful 40-minute walk along nature).

I had the best time at Tucano House Backpackers. The whole team is awesome, super friendly, welcoming, and just really easy to hang out with. It honestly feels more like staying with friends than at a hostel. The food was amazing and always varied, something different and super tasty every day. I had so much fun and met great people almost immediately. It’s such a social place, you never feel alone. Big thanks to the entire team for the great vibes and unforgettable time.
