Welcome to Tucano House Backpackers! For 19 years, we’ve been spreading joy, sunshine and the best island vibes in Florianópolis — a hostel built on friendship, community and unforgettable experiences.

We’re located on the magical island of Florianópolis (Brazil), owned and operated by a warm and outgoing mix of local & international staff who are passionate about showing you the real Floripa — from hidden beaches and jungle trails to nightlife, culture and delicious food.

We’re located in the heart of Lagoa da Conceição, a beautiful lagoon-side suburb known for its lively atmosphere, delicious restaurants, bars, surf shops and famous nightlife. From here, you're close to everything Floripa is known for — including the iconic Praia Mole and Joaquina, only 10 minutes away by car (or a beautiful 40-minute walk along nature).

Really nice experience! A good place for a solo-traveller if you are seeking meeting and getting to know new people and having activities with other people. The staff are all really friendly and the place feels easily like a home. The hostel organizes trips and opportunities to party every day - it is also a good hostel if you want to party. Still, they respect silent limits at the evenings so you can get good sleep also in the hostel. And the dinners are good!

Great hostel and very social! Dinner is really good and staff is super nice. The room have no curtains which is a big minus, there is aldo nowher to really but your stuff so the room get super messy and bags all over the floor. But for the vibes and social atmosphere it is amazing.
