Welcome to Tucano House Backpackers! For 19 years, we’ve been spreading joy, sunshine and the best island vibes in Florianópolis — a hostel built on friendship, community and unforgettable experiences.

We’re located on the magical island of Florianópolis (Brazil), owned and operated by a warm and outgoing mix of local & international staff who are passionate about showing you the real Floripa — from hidden beaches and jungle trails to nightlife, culture and delicious food.

We’re located in the heart of Lagoa da Conceição, a beautiful lagoon-side suburb known for its lively atmosphere, delicious restaurants, bars, surf shops and famous nightlife. From here, you're close to everything Floripa is known for — including the iconic Praia Mole and Joaquina, only 10 minutes away by car (or a beautiful 40-minute walk along nature).

Me and a friend stayed here for 6 days during the Carneval. We had lots of fun (and alcohol), the hostel has a good atmosphere. Most of the staff is very nice, wifi was good some places. We stayed in the female dorm which we were happy with! But we had to ask if they could turn on the AC every night because they forgot. Pool is very small. Breakfast was good! Would stay again! 😊

Loved this hostel! Stayed here the last couple of days before they closed for the season. Highly recommend the dinners they do in the evening, the chefs are amazing. They organized something to do each evening as well. I stayed in the female dorm, no outlets near some of the beds but besides that great. Hostel was very clean and you can do laundry nearby at gringos. Staff was helpful if you had any questions.
