Group Booking Terms and Conditions

Because you are making a Group Booking, there are additional Terms and Conditions that apply. Please read them and click 'I Accept' below to continue with your booking

General Group Booking Terms

By making a group reservation through Hostelworld.com you agree to the following terms and conditions as set by Hostelworld.com and as set by the hostel in question.

  • In order to make a group reservation on Hostelworld.com it is necessary to pay a deposit. The balance is due directly to the hostel according to their payment conditions.
  • The booking deposit is non-refundable.
  • Please note that any cancellations must be notified directly to the hostel at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival date, unless otherwise stated in the hostel's conditions.
  • Hostelworld.com are not responsible for changes or amendments to your reservation once it has been processed. All correspondence with regard to changes to your booking need to be dealt with directly with the hostel.
  • Cancellations for reservations must be made directly with the hostel and must conform with the individual hostels cancellation policy (see below)
  • It is your responsibility to pay the balance of your accommodation cost to the hostel in accordance with their payment conditions (see below). Failure to do so may result in your reservation being cancelled by the hostel.
  • Individual hostels may have special booking conditions relating to group stays, please read the hostel booking conditions carefully before making your reservation.

Hostel Specific Terms & Conditions

The remainder of the amount due will be charged to your credit card 1 week prior to arrival. Should numbers or room selection change, the per person deposit times the number of people who actually travelled will be deducted from the total accommodation charge levvied by the hostel.

Cancellation / No Show & Reduction in Numbers Policy

Any cancellation from the group must be notified at least 15 days prior to arrival to receive a full refund less the 15% non-refundable deposit already paid. Increases in the number of guests are subject to availability and will be charged at the current applicable rate. Should the number in the group or nights of stay drop below the original booking, refunds will be as detailed in the cancellation conditions below. The rate may also be reviewed at Koisi Hostel discretion.
If any of your group fail to arrive, without notification, on the arrival date then the bed will automatically be charged as a non-arrival for all nights of the stay and there will be no refunds. That bed could be sold again online.
If the group falls below our minimum group level of 9 guests due to cancellations or non-arrival then Koisi Hostel will withdraw any group discounts and then the current advertised rate on our website will be applied to the booking.
In the event you wish to cancel your booking the following conditions apply to the total value of your group reservation:
More than 15 days prior to arrival - Full Refund (excluding deposit)
Within 1-2 weeks - 75% Cancellation charge will apply
1 week or less - 100% Cancellation charge will apply

Additional Terms and Conditions

A group reservation remains as provisional until a non-refundable deposit amounting to 15% of the total booking value has been received. Koisi Hostel reserves the right to cancel any booking with a provisional status once reasonable efforts have been made to contact you.
Once this deposit has been received the group reservation becomes guaranteed and subject to our Group Terms and Conditions.
Once the deposit is received a Confirmation clearly stating the deposit paid will be forwarded to you and will also act as your receipt.
A pro forma invoice for the balance of the payment will also be forwarded to you at the time of the deposit payment. The remaining of the total fee must be received by Koisi Hostel no later than 15 days prior to arrival. Please allow an extra 5 working days prior to the payment due date for a bank transfer to clear.
Koisi Hostel accepts no responsibility for chasing payment of the balance. If the remaining balance is not received 15 days prior to arrival Koisi Hostel will endeavour to contact you. In the event you cannot be contacted then the group reservation will be cancelled and the 15% non-refundable deposit will be retained by Koisi Hostel.
A final rooming list and arrival time should be provided to Koisi Hostel 15 days prior to your arrival. Should the numbers in the group fall below the confirmed number then the cancellation conditions below will apply and the rate quoted may be reviewed discretion of Koisi Hostel.

Check-in/out – Room deposit – Behaviour
Groups Check-in time is any time after 3pm on the date of arrival. Check-out time is any time before 12am on the date of departure.
All guests will have to provide photo identification in the form of a passport, driving license or European ID Card. All guests will be required to sign a rooming list on arrival which will state they agree to our Terms & Conditions of stay. In order to speed up the check in process, groups can provide passports, pay the security deposit and agree to our T&C in advance.
All Group Reservations are asked to authorise a security deposit on arrival; this amount per person will be charged to a Credit or Debit card on check-in. The amount per person will be stated on your Group Contract. This authorised deposit is fully refundable on check-out should all rooms and property be in an acceptable manner.
During your group’s stay the Duty Manager nominated by Koisi Hostel reserves the right to inspect any rooms occupied by your group without notice.
Should any guests within a group reservation be found to have non-paying guests in their room, the group leader will be responsible for payment of the extra accommodation requirements, failure to pay for non-registered guests may result in the whole group reservation being terminated without refund.
Should any group members become unruly resulting in complaints from other guests, Koisi Hostel reserves the right to cancel the group reservation which will result in early eviction from the property without any monies refunded.

The following group types are not accepted by this hostel: Junior / Primary School, Stag/Hen/Bachelor Party If you have misrepresented the type of group you are booking for, your booking may be cancelled by the hostel."

Any cancellations resulting from agreement to these terms and conditions under false pretences will result in loss of deposit.

We are situated in El Antiguo (named precisely for being the original nucleus of the city), that lies adjacent to Ondarreta Beach and Mount Igeldo. It is a peaceful and elegant area, but also very vibrant. Home of some of the best tourist attractions such as the Palacio Miramar, Concha Bay, Ondarreta Beach and the Wind’s Comb, admirable work of the sculptor Eduardo Chillida and today one of the city’s most iconic and beautiful corners.     A bit far away from the Old Town, but close enough to take a walk down the beach and be there in about 30 minutes. Great rooms, great staff, and great atmosphere. In the future, they could benefit from having something like shuttle services to help guests get to and from the hostel to places like the bus station or the Old Town.

    Room was extremely small for six people! Bathroom shower spewed into the bathroom area. Staff were exceptionally helpful! Parking availability was non existent.

    Great hostel, but the old town was about a 20 minute walk. It’s also completely automated, I never spoke to a staff member.

    Great location and great price! The space was really just OK. Bathrooms were kind of gross and the free breakfast was really just sliced bread and some basic fruit (it’s something! but nothing great). I would recommend for the price.

    The hostel is great, everything great. The only problem we got is asking us for 150€ because they got to compensate other guest for hostel problems. When we made our checkin with only the code they gave us, because there was no staff there to receive us, we made a mistake thinking the four of us will be staying in the same room. The same reservation made for four guest they separated us 3 in one room and the other in the room on the floor below. After leaving our belongings in the room 4.7 we were out to see the city, dinner time came and the hostel called us to tell us about the mistake. We (staff and guests) agreed that instead of making it back to the hostel and resolving the issue, the staff would relocate our thing to the beds that belonged to our reservation. Everything good so far and the problem resolved. When we arrived later that night we found that a charger was missing and we just wanted to make sure that we weren’t robbed, we made a little noise with a staff member that came to help us and we found it no problem. Everyone went back to sleep and the one of our group went to sleep in room 3.7 according to the reservation. Next day we already had made the check out, we leave the hostel say goodbye to the guy in the bar the only one there and on with our lives. Afternoon we receive a called saying other guests in the room had complained about noise and then changing it saying that we slept 4 of us in the same room, which is a lie, and for that reason the hostel had to compensate the other guest and therefore we got to pay extra 150€. We agreed that this was an attempt to get more money for a problem that was solved the day before, and we were not paying that amount. Other that this issue, nothing to report or say about the place, nice people and nice facilities.

    While the check in process was easy and straightforward, the stay itself was moderately uncomfortable. The location is about a 45 minute walk from the Old Town, which is the central hub of San Sebastián. Not the end of the world, but something to consider. Staying at the hostel was pleasant enough, but because of Spain’s hot summers and humid climate, it caused the rooms to feel stuffy and hot. There was an AC unit in the room but it appeared to be broken. The bed was quite short as well.

    Code usage was blocked in the evening. It took us more.than hour to enter the room, had to keep room open all night (lighting from hall ) and unexpected mixed sleeping. The staff went away and didnt care. Only the cleaner came.to help in the end. Awful experience. I will never recommend this system and place. And discourage others.

    Perfect example of automation making things worse instead of better. No one at the hostel - they rely on the goodwill of the guests (bad idea) when problems arise no one takes responsibility. Felt extremely unsafe as there was no one to hold anyone accountable or even keep people out of the building or rooms. The hostel isn’t cleaned properly as there are miscommunications regarding the reservations. When I had an issue they blamed it on website booking system.
