Hostelworld says

Hostelworld guests often compare Stayokay Amsterdam Oost (Zeeburg) to a hotel, saying it's spacious and clean and serves a very highly praised breakfast of 'eggs, cheese, ham, freshly pressed orange/apple juice' and more. Visitors tell us the hostel 'has excellent tram and bus connections and all the main attractions are on the same tram line', putting it about 10 minutes by tram from the very centre of Amsterdam. We like that there is a reading light and power socket at each dorm bed, with decor that's been described as 'beautiful and modern and...well taken care of'.

Really nice hostel with high quality rooms and facilities. The bar downstairs with outside seating created a nice atmosphere. However to get to the central area you needed to walk 15 minutes and get a train so the location was abit far out. Overall it was a nice place with nice facilities.

This is a great hostel. A little expensive compared to others around Europe and not located in city centre. The Oost area is still very nice with loads of shops and there's a 3 euro train to get you downtown. The rooms are alright with little room around the beds. Additionally, only 1 shower for a 6-person room.

Very basic place, clean and safe. Far from the city though and not much going on at the hostel. A bit expensive for what you get in my opinion.

For Amsterdam it was ok. Beds made a lot of noise if you move a little. Cleanliness could've been improved. Getting around from Oost isn't that big a deal, 10 minutes on the tram to Centraal.

Very expensive!!! Like multiple times more that you typically pay for a night in a hostel. The location was alright, a little far from places but it’s ok and I knew it before booking. The atmosphere in the hostel was great and I really loved the spaciousness of the bar. The staff in the reception didn’t really seem too interested in their job, but we’re hanging around with each other ignoring the guests.

Good place to stay if you don't mind too much heat and noise. Dormitories were good condition and check-in was very easy. However, you may want to avoid staying in summer when temps over 25 as no aircon and it's like sleeping in an oven!! Place seemed quite modern however was very hot in the room and noise from voices and music at the bar downstairs continued to 11pm which didn't help with getting to sleep. Shower and toilet was clean, cafe had good coffee downstairs. 40min walk to the centre.

Stayokay Amsterdam Oost says

I think what guests like the most about our hostel is our price and quality. The rooms are clean and safe, there is free Wi-Fi. In our bar you can meet other travellers and play a game of pool or darts. The hostel has a bike rental service, which is a great way to get around the city! Our staff is very experienced and willing to help you find your way around the city. At the reception lots of things are available like towels, tickets for museums and attractions, public transport tickets and the Amsterdam card or City Pass.
Around the hostel there are some interesting things to do and see. For example, there is a cinema next door and a real Dutch windmill in walking distance. This is a good photo stop and it gets even better; it's also a beer brewery! At 'Brouwerij 't IJ' they make their own local Amsterdam beer and of course you can have a taste there on their sunny terrace.
For some culture you can take a short walk to the Royal Tropical Institute (Tropenmuseum). The permanent and temporary exhibitions display (art) objects, photographs, music and film from non-western cultures. Did you know that there are people with over 180 different nationalities living in Amsterdam?
Guests of all ages are welcome in our hostel. Over the last 5 years that the hostel is open, we have welcomed guests from 0 to 88 years. Most guests are between 18 and 30 years old. This is a wheelchair-friendly building and there is an elevator available. There are also several wheelchair-accessible rooms available for people with special needs or disabilities. Rian, Manager
