Summary of traveller reviews

Stayokay Amsterdam Oost offers a clean and comfortable stay with friendly staff and a great atmosphere in its common areas. While located a bit further from the city centre, it's well-connected by public transport. Some guests found the rooms a bit small and lockers could be larger, and a lack of AC can make rooms warm in summer.

Great clean dorm rooms with a nice social area downstairs. Only spent the night, definitely would come again if I'm in the area.

This hostel was good for a short stay! I really enjoyed the lobby and common areas on the main floor. I loved the location - lots of cool places to go and really great public transit options. I would say the room could’ve been cleaner and nicer but it was fine. Also, there was no AC and it was very hot during my visit.

By far one of the last expensive hostels I’ve ever stayed in I. Europe & was certainly not good value for money. Beds comfortable, check in / out easy & nice communal area / good facilities, but could definitely have been cleaner, beds very squeaky & saw lots of mice around the hostel.

Hostelworld says

Hostelworld guests often compare Stayokay Amsterdam Oost (Zeeburg) to a hotel, saying it's spacious and clean and serves a very highly praised breakfast of "eggs, cheese, ham, freshly pressed orange/apple juice" and more. Visitors tell us the hostel "has excellent tram and bus connections and all the main attractions are on the same tram line", putting it about 10 minutes by tram from the very centre of Amsterdam. We like that there is a reading light and power socket at each dorm bed, with decor that's been described as "beautiful and modern and...well taken care of".
