Hostelworld says

Hostelworld guests often compare Stayokay Amsterdam Oost (Zeeburg) to a hotel, saying it's spacious and clean and serves a very highly praised breakfast of 'eggs, cheese, ham, freshly pressed orange/apple juice' and more. Visitors tell us the hostel 'has excellent tram and bus connections and all the main attractions are on the same tram line', putting it about 10 minutes by tram from the very centre of Amsterdam. We like that there is a reading light and power socket at each dorm bed, with decor that's been described as 'beautiful and modern and...well taken care of'.

Very nice hostel and warm!! My friend and I got the 2 beds in the upstairs loft so it was a little extra privacy which we liked. Lots of room and very clean throughout the entire hostel. Shower/toilet/sink in the room were a little too small

This was our first time staying at a hostel and we loved it. When we arrived on the first day we got an upgrade from 8 bedroom to a 6 bedroom and for our great surprise we got a top two bed that had its own curtains. The breakfast was okay, i wish it included more but 7€ is a good price, maybe next time they could include more options in drinks and food as I only served myself scrambled eggs with bread and one orange juice and one coffee. It is a bit far from the city centre (40 - 45 min walk).

Good hostel located not too far away from the city center. Close to the number 14 tram in addition to other amenities available in nearby neighborhood. 6 bed dorm room was nice and clean with ensuite bathroom. Bed was comfortable with enough locker space underneath for everyone. Due to the fact that it is a large hostel with children and families staying here I would say the vibe is not like a smaller hostel. Not much social interaction with other people going on here.

Clean, big hostel. Really clean rooms with great bathrooms. Not much of a social vibe here, lots of ages and types of people. Not ideal for solo travel, no cooking facilities.

Everything was great except the staff seemed disorganized. The front desk told us that our breakfast was included and then the kitchen staff yelled at us when we presented our voucher for breakfast. Apparently when they had put an x over 'yes' on the breakfast included question, that meant that they crossed yes out and it actually meant no. The woman in the kitchen was very rude, and didn't explain why we couldn't get breakfast, only sent us to the front desk to get berated again.

Rooms are super clean but the hostel is a bit far from the city, you need to take the tram definitely. There is no kitchen, microwave or a fridge. The guy who checked us in was a bit stiff. However, the common areas are nice but they dont have a lot of activities such as bar hopping or nights out mostly basic ones

Stayokay Amsterdam Oost says

I think what guests like the most about our hostel is our price and quality. The rooms are clean and safe, there is free Wi-Fi. In our bar you can meet other travellers and play a game of pool or darts. The hostel has a bike rental service, which is a great way to get around the city! Our staff is very experienced and willing to help you find your way around the city. At the reception lots of things are available like towels, tickets for museums and attractions, public transport tickets and the Amsterdam card or City Pass.
Around the hostel there are some interesting things to do and see. For example, there is a cinema next door and a real Dutch windmill in walking distance. This is a good photo stop and it gets even better; it's also a beer brewery! At 'Brouwerij 't IJ' they make their own local Amsterdam beer and of course you can have a taste there on their sunny terrace.
For some culture you can take a short walk to the Royal Tropical Institute (Tropenmuseum). The permanent and temporary exhibitions display (art) objects, photographs, music and film from non-western cultures. Did you know that there are people with over 180 different nationalities living in Amsterdam?
Guests of all ages are welcome in our hostel. Over the last 5 years that the hostel is open, we have welcomed guests from 0 to 88 years. Most guests are between 18 and 30 years old. This is a wheelchair-friendly building and there is an elevator available. There are also several wheelchair-accessible rooms available for people with special needs or disabilities. Rian, Manager
