Talib has your back! A wise man with a lot of experience. He runs the hostel. The staff were very helpful. Everyone staying is pretty social, I would say my stay there and time on flatbush and walking east was the most happy I was visiting NYC. Everyone is super helpful.

Had an awesome stay at the Brooklyn Riviera. Great location for exploring both Brooklyn and Manhattan. The suburb itself was super cool with lots of nice restaurants and bars. The staff are fantastic and always down for a chat - the terrace is a great spot for socialising. Would definitely stay there again !

Great staff, lovely people. Everyone really looked after me when I injured myself. Thanks guys! I liked the area, felt safe walking at night and all amenities in walking distance. Easy to get to Manhattan. Breakfast was often cake! Outside area and downstairs lounge perfect for chilling and meeting people. Wifi was good. Would definitely stay again 😊

I recommend this hostel! The atmosphere is very friendly and warm. There’s everything you need, and a breakfast is included, which is really rare in hostels. The only disadvantage during my stay was that the fan was noisy in my room, so I could hear it at night , but the rest was fine. I just want to thank a lot a team of this hostel for the warm welcome in NYC! I

Thanks to Talib and his careful team for hosting me in his Brooklyn Riviera Hostel! The hostel is very authentic (the lovers of museums and theaters will appreciate it for the stuff from flea markets) and cozy, and provides all basic staff for economic traveling even breakfasts! :) I can't wait to come back to New York and stay there again and meet more awesome persons who work and who stay in this nice hostel too. :)

    Very Good

The owner, and his staffs are very nice and attentive. For the price, it is actually a pretty good deal considering everything else in NYC is chokingly expensive. I was travelling alone and made friends with my dorm mates but the neighbourhood is not meant for solo traveller especially late at night. 10-15 minutes from the nearest train but I made it in 5. The dorm is accessible to everyone and there's no locker so you have to bring your valuable with you all the time.

Listen, with hostels you sacrifice amenities for cheap prices. This place is no different - the beds are squeaky and I think there’s only one toilet - but it’s funky and cool as heck. They just don’t want Americans staying there, which I find weird.

Did not really enjoy staying here, but it did the job. Pros - Staff were all very helpful and friendly, lots of leaflets on things to do, shower was hot and powerful, location was pretty good, security was ok, needing a key to get in the front door. Cons- It was really gritty, i saw a ton of insects in the kitchen and shower (silverfish), holes in the wall etc, only 1 toilet/shower, breakfast is barely anything, they cleared my bed thinking i had checked out when I was clearly still there
