Good staff and welcoming atmosphere. Cool vibe and flexible luggage storage policy. There is a WhatsApp group to do things with others at the hostel but it wasn’t very dynamic, and of course it’s difficult to sleep with people climbing into squeaky beds at 3 in the morning or snoring. But this is not really the hostels fault. I do think the toilet and shower shared between four people is too tiny and the hostel as a whole is very small and narrow. Clean and cheap but claustrophobic.

Jaca Hostel is a great location to be able to explore downtown Funchal. It is a moderate facility, connected to a nice cafe. The staff were especially helpful when I had accidentally left something behind! I would stay here again.
