You’ll find Attic on the top floor of a heritage building in the heart of Auckland’s CBD, just around the corner from the Sky Tower, Queen Street, and everything you need when you first land in New Zealand. With 100+ beds across dorms and private rooms, it’s social without being overwhelming — big enough to meet people, small enough to feel familiar. Attic is proudly locally owned by three friends who care deeply about the place and the people who pass through it. It’s not part of a big international group, and it’s not run like one either. That’s what keeps things personal, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming — the kind of place where decisions are made with people in mind, not policies.

This is the sort of hostel where you wander down the hallway barefoot, end up chatting to someone new, and suddenly you’re making plans together.
