Tanini Sepilok

The attitude of the staff is very good, but the price of washing clothes is not transparent. At the beginning, they quoted me 15/kg. I have 4kg clothes, and I need to spend 60. This is simply too expensive. When I proposed to wash by hand, they gave me I was quoted 30, which is not cheap, and faced with a pile of dirty laundry, I accepted it.

Cheap place to say but people in the dorm rooms seem to be second class citizens. The included breakfast is either leftovers in the cold buffet pans from the bus trips, or just cereal or toast then on my last day I got a full breakfast. Very hit and miss but the restaurant food is good and all the staff are fantastic. Great location to do the RDC night walk as you can just walk there and it's an easy walk to orangutans and sunbear too. Use the umbrellas provided to shade from the sun and rain

I booked two nights at the hostel room via hostelworld with them, and upon arrival the staff told me they couldn't find my booking (even when I had the email confirmation) and they can only offer one night of hostel room for me. They suggested I can upgrade it to their private rooms for the second night, without providing any other alternatives. I asked for a possible discount for the room as this is a problem caused by their side, and they eventually said no. This shows the problematic management of the property and the unwillingness of apologising/ solving the problem from the customer's pov. The location is walking distance to RDC and the white house bistro, but far away from the other two centres. Compared to the other resorts Tanini also has significantly less facilities such as swimming pools available on site. Their kitchen serves horrendous food apart from the breakfast. It explains why it is always so quiet at the kitchen even when the hostel rooms are apparently full.
