I visited Santiago and I stayed in this hostel so I can say that I spent a very good time here. I had a wonderful stay and I would happily recommend Atacama to anyone visiting Santiago. Lovely place with nice staff and they are very attentive and always willing to help us.The atmosphere was nice. They have great recommendations about everything and it was very helpful for me. The hostel has a great location and very safety too, would definitely stay here again. I very much enjoyed the place!

I had a good time in Atacama Hostel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is good, near to restaurant and pubs, and it is just two block to the subway station.

This place was simply amazing. It is just a 10 minute walk from the hostel to Manuel Mont station, the staff were always willing to help with directions, free WiFi and clean rooms (cleaned once a day). I would also like to mention that this place is very safe.. The reception is 24 h whats grants access to the hostel after hours. Also, there is cool bars close bay. Awesome atmosphere- awesome for those looking for a good time!

I arrived to atacama just for one night but ended up staying more than a week. Everyone there made me feel so welcomed that it was really hard to leave. Every evening they organised something and all the guest got together, which is great if you want to meet new people. Apart from that, the hostel location is great situated close to santiagos main attractions and in safe neighbourhood as it is Providencia. Comfortable beds and toilets and common areas very clean and tidy.

When we arrived there they were doing a lot of construction work in the hostel which they didn't inform us on upfront. All the furniture was outside and we had to vacate the hostel for 3 hours so they could do some work. I taught it was appropriate if they'd informed us of this upfront or if they'd offered us a slight discount, but both were apparently impossible for them. Besides that, the 8 ppl dorm is very very crowded. There are way too many beds for that small room.

They made a mistake in our booking and the staff was very nice and gave us a private room. Our door faced the main hallway, which made it very noisy when people came in and out of the gate. The room did not have any hot water and I don't think ours was the only one like this. the light went out in our bathroom and the guy was unable to fix it, so we had a small lap on the sink counter. The location was close to a really nice pathway and a nice park.

the kitchen was disgusting, the pots and pans all greesy and dusty, the internet was extremely slow and the chair before the upstairs computer completely broken, the staff, thought often not available were very friendly. and there were lockers so in that way security was good, one of my favorite pieces of the hostel was the wall full of terms and slang painted on the wall in the dining room and the patio is nice as well. in general i would say if you are looking for a cheap sleep its ok
