The manager is passionate and gave an incredible welcome speech. Welcome drink and rebates around, plus cheap tickets for anything you need. Giod value. Bathrooms sticks a bit, everything else is awesome.

Nice set up. Liked the way the dorms were laid out. Felt like your stuff was safe.

Nice hostel but not great atmosphere for meeting other travelers. Convenient location, nice bar across the street.

A perfunctory hostel, but I, traveling solo, felt it didn't really have a very sociable atmosphere. Not great for meeting people, but there's a free drink included, which does help with meeting people. Beds are hard and room is cold. Overall it's certainly not a bad hostel but it didn't stand out as a great one

Not great. Nothing went dramatically wrong but the one member of staff isn't even in the hostel building but next door so not great for security. They keep your ID as deposit, promising to keep it 'secure' in the safe... In reality it's kept in a tupperware on the (sometimes unmanned) desk! The toilets smell pretty bad, the showers don't have any space to put your things/change without everything getting wet. 15min walk to Sairee. No common area.Only given a fitted sheet

Fine hostel with a travelagency. Clean and in a good location. Rooms could use a bit more light imo.

I stayed at Koh Tao Central for one night. It is very close to the pier. It's a good location if you want to be close to the boats to dive or snorkel. It was too far from my dive school in Sairee so I moved further north. Although Jenny, the receptionist, isn't the most cheerful, she is very professional and responded to all my inquiries in a timely manner. The rooms are clean and provide a good amount of privacy. The showers didn't have cold water. There was a funny stench in the toilets.

Great location and dorms, the bathroom was cleaned constantly but had a pretty constant dank smell.

Great to have the somewhat private areas as the room is partitioned by walls. Staff is super - helped with all the questions that I had and (special thank you, Rolf). I knew that there was no real common area, which kind of sucks, but a bunch of people would often hang out by the entrance on the porch, so you can still meet with other travelers. Place feels safe, so your belongings should not be in any risk. Really happy with staying at this hostel!

Great hostel ( clean, secure, own plug/light etc) but lacks a chill out area. Location is right by pier so good 20/30 min walk to main lively area of Sairee beach

Showers mostly lukewarm. But 10% discounts in several bars/restaurants/shops. Staff helpful but not overfriendly.

Had an amazing time here! Get privacy in rooms but still meet people outside and at the common area reef bar! Rolf the owner is great went for drinks and pool with him! Best place so far! Defiantly will return!

I had a great time at Koh Tao central, Rolf is the owner goes out of his way to ensure that you are having a good time and keeps you safe at the same time. He mingles with everyone and is a genuine nice/funny guy. Although there isn't a communal area, Reef bar is across the road, you can take your own food and it has a free pool table. I will be staying here again!

It's a really good hostel to meet people. They have a bar where you can play pool and hang out and have a few drinks. It's even ok when you bring food from outside, they don't mind.

Great staff, thanks for everything. The semi-private dorm is a double-edged sword, as waking up daily to coed moaning and rustling bedsheets might be the flip side to privacy. Wanted to say, "Get a room". All the best to you.

Had an awesome time at Central Hostel. Rolf, the owner, was amazingly helpful in everything - rearranging beds, adjusting the temperature of the aircon (during the first few nights it was freezingly cold in the dorm), recommending a diving centre, etc. The hostel is very clean, bathroom gets cleaned every day. Met awesome people there just by sitting in front of the entrance :) And the reef bar opposite is great for chilling out and meeting people! Try the chicken over there ;)

This is a good hostel. I like the added privacy of the divider walls between the beds. Bring your own padlock for the lockers. They ask for your passport as deposit. I don't like handing my passport over but there were no issues. The only negative would be the toilets. They really need some ventilation. Doors with a 6 inch gap at the top and bottom or a vent in the door would be better. They're just really musty. Otherwise would stay here again.

The location is great, being super close to the port and otherwise a bike ride away to other beaches. The staff are great and super helpful. We rented a bike through the place next door which is joint to the hostel so got a great price and no hassles. There is no common room, but everyone goes to the bar across the road where you get drink discounts. We also borrowed some snorkel gear for the day at no extra cost which was sweet and given tips on where to go.
