Great location right on the Plaza. We had 2 rooms - the first was a private double with bath and it was great, in a shared apartment with a kitchen, computer and living area. The second was a private with bath, which was a cute studio apartment with a great view of the plaza. Lovely - would definately recommend the hostel.

The staff were really friendly and tried their best to make it a great stay. The hostel is located right in the center of the main plaza and while it can get a little noisy from the street happenings, it's all part of the atmosphere. However, I had booked a 8-bed ensuite dorm, and was given a 12-bed shared bath instead. Rooms have little ventilation and can get stuffy and warm. Open ceiling concept so you hear everything in the entire hostel, from doorbell to footsteps to entire conversations.

The hostel is not located in the best location in terms of nightlife and activity. The plaza is lovely to look out at night but Buena Vista is a better place to be. The īwallsīto the dorm rooms donīt meet the ceiling and so you are woken up at the crack of dawn and unable to socialise much past 11.30 without being asked to take it outside. We booked a 10 bed dorm on hostelworld which was actually a 12 bed dorm which you couldnīt swing a cat in. This hostel is clean and ok.

we heard many good things about plaza de armas hostel and our visit exceeded our expectations. the staff have all been extremely helpful and friendly and our private double room was more like an apartment with loads of natural light and great kitchen and balcony facing the main square. highly recommended!   Read Owner Comments

this was my second stay in the hostel, the other time was for 10 days and it really felt like home. the staff were really friendly and helpful. the view of the plaza from the balcony is sensational and an excellent place to chill in the evening.....not a party hostel but a really nice homely atmosphere!

This place was way above our expectations- amazing apartment in the hostel building with own kitchen, wooden floors and a balcony overlooking the square. Great breakfast, friendly and helpful staff that went out of their way to help when our shower wasn't working perfectly. Would highly recommend this great spot.

Great location for sightseeing, but not if you are wanting to go out. I had a bad experience with the staff and found them to be somewhat rude and offered little help and information.

Definately the best hostel we have stayed at so far, after 3 months of travel. Excellant facilities. My only complaint is that the beds are so comfy you dont want to get up in the morning!

I am a single traveller (Mom) that travelled with my daughter (age 8). We were both welcomed and treated wonderfully by staff. We stayed in Room #7, and although it was hard to sleep - the kitchen party noise was really heard through the wall, and we had to use the shared showers two of our four days due to no hot water in the private bathroom we had, it was still a fine location and a good, solid hostel. Make sure when you book this private room/apt that you check the hot water on the first day
