Take a look at the best rooftop bars in Bangkok:
Bangkok’s classic rooftop bars:
1. Sky Bar Rooftop at Lebua
Candid 💁 📷: @annaspeed_
Bangkok’s best-known rooftop bar certainly lives up to expectations. There’s a sweeping staircase that leads to the circular bar with breathtaking 360° views of the Chaophraya river. Their best-known cocktail is the hangovertini, named after the movie that was filmed here. So gather your Wolf Pack here for the best night out in Bangkok!
The bar, which is located on the 63rd floor, doesn’t open until six and because of its popularity, there is hardly any seating. But it’s still the rooftop bar that everyone talks about, and it’s definitely worth a visit, if only for one drink… just don’t blame us if you wake up in a hotel room with Mike Tyson and a tiger!
Lebua, 1055 Silom Road, Bangrak, Bangkok, 10500 (nearest BTS is Saphan Taksin)
2. Vertigo and Moon Bar Rooftop at Banyan Tree Bangkok
Bangkok, you do grey so well 📷: @tk_a.k.a._h
The rooftop bar at the top of Bangkok’s Banyan Tree Hotel is a favourite because it places you 61 floors above one of the busiest parts of the city. The bar stretches across the entire roof and their best cocktails are inspired by the street food the city is famous for, including Tom Yum.
Seats are limited here too, so it’s worth getting here for 5.30pm to grab one of the comfortable sofas that face the sparkling skyscrapers and the setting sun… your Instagram can thank us later! The bar sometimes closes during the rainy season, so call ahead if you’re visiting on a drizzly day.
Banyan Tree, 21/100 South Sathon Road (nearest MRT is Lumpini)
3. Red Sky – Centara Grand at CentralWorld
I’ll have what she’s having 📷: @redskybangkok
This rooftop bar is located in Bangkok’s shopping district, on the 55th floor above CentralWorld Shopping Mall. There are uninterrupted views of the city, as far as the Golden Mount Temple (Wat Saket). The curved light above the main bar is hypnotic AF as it runs through the colours of the rainbow.
Try their passion fruit martinis and settle down on one of the many comfortable sofas that make this one of Bangkok’s best rooftop bars. It’s the perfect place to recover from the miles you’ll have walked whilst shopping. The food here is also wonderful, making Red Sky a great Bangkok rooftop restaurant for those who are into the high life… get it? 😉
Centralworld, 999/99 Rama 1 Road, Pathumwan (nearest BTS is Siam)

Probably one of the best rooftop bars in Bangkok to while away an entire evening, Octave has three stories and plenty of seats facing the 360° views. To ensure you can really absorb the vista, there’s only reinforced glass between you and city, with a view that stretches along Sukhumvit Road.
Head up to the top floor with its round blue bar and order a Mango Sticky Rice cocktail, made with local rice spirit. As the evening wears on the party gets started, with live DJs every night. It’s the highest spot to party in Bangkok.
Bangkok Marriott Hotel Sukhumvit, 2 Sukhumvit Soi 57, Bangkok (nearest BTS is Thonglor)
Local’s favourite rooftop bars:
1. Park Society
Futuristic vibes 😈 📷: @bitnaaa
If you want a view with a slice of greenery then there’s nowhere better than Park Society, on the 29th floor of So Sofitel. It has two floors, but the seats that face Lumpini Park are the best even though they face away from the sunset. It’s a sleek, masculine space where the music is funky and the service is brisk. There are some really creative cocktails here, including a fruity mix your own mai tai, but nothing really beats the watermelon and basil margarita. They also have a ‘cocktail of the month’ on offer if you’re looking to save a few pennies.
So Sofitel Hotel, 2 North Sathorn Road, Bangrak, 10500 Bangkok (nearest MRT Lumpini)
2. Cielo Rooftop Bar
Can we have a couple more minutes? 📷: @mirkahannele
This bar is one of the cheapest rooftop bars in Bangkok, even though it’s only a couple of stops on the Skytrain from some of Bangkok’s most popular nightlife spots. It has impressive 180-degree views, including the river and Sukhumvit Rd. It’s less formal than other bars and has a short glass walkway that gives you the feeling that you’re floating 46 floors above the ground. It has a decent selection of classic cocktails and beers but don’t expect anything too fancy. The view is definitely worth it and with prices like these, you can afford a couple more sundowners.
LeLuk Condominium, B Tower Sukhumvit Road (nearest BTS is Prakanong)
3. Long Table
Sparkles are a girl’s best friend! 📷: @longtablebangkok
This rooftop bar boasts the longest table in the city, apparently! It’s worth bypassing it and heading straight to the terrace, where you’ll get an excellent view of the Sukhumvit neighbourhood and Benjakiti Park. Alongside their classic cocktails are original mixes, such as the salty soi dog with vodka and pomelo juice.
The Happy hour deals make Long Table a more affordable Bangkok rooftop bar with two for one cocktails and some excellent deals on Thai light bites for those looking for a Bangkok rooftop restaurant! This isn’t quite a rooftop as the hotel continues above, but the views and cocktails are worthy of a place on the list.
48 Column Tower, Sukhumvit Soi 16 (nearest BTS is Asoke)

If you want a rooftop that you don’t have to dress up for, that’s more frequented by locals than tourists and that gives you a taste of Bangkok’s more creative, arsty side, then Wanderlust is the rooftop bar for you – (and definitely one of the cheapest rooftop bars in Bangkok!)
It might only be on the 5th floor but with a soundtrack of old-school pop rock and electronica, as well as excellent value cocktails and beers and food, you won’t mind that you have to look up to admire the city rather than look down.
Nakiya Japanese Restaurant Building, Thonglor Soi 13 (nearest BTS is Thonglor)
Riverside rooftop bars:
1. Millennium 360
Time for a dip? 📷: @zoe.thb
This often overlooked rooftop bar has sweeping views of the river and, like the name suggests, there’s nothing blocking your view of Bangkok. The enclosed bar is like a flying saucer, whilst the outdoor area has comfortable sofas and a chilled out atmosphere.
Being located on the west side of the river means that it’s never crowded, but it’s worth the shuttle boat across, especially as you can spot the grand palace and some of Bangkok’s best-loved temples from here.
Hilton Hotel, 23 Charoennakorn Road, Klongsan (nearest BTS is Saphan Taksin)
2. Attitude Rooftop at Avani
Baby blues! 📷: @attitude_rooftop
Take a shuttle ferry in the other direction to see a side of Bangkok that not many tourists explore, 26 floors up!. This rooftop bar has good views of the bustling waterway and Asiatique night market, as well as a resident DJ, who keeps the vibe as cool as the other side of the pillow.
Their in-house mixologists know their stuff so it’s worth testing their creativity. If you’ve got a sweet tooth try the Bora Bora Paradise Island, which is topped with coconut ice-cream.
Avani Hotel, 257 Charoennakorn Road, Thonburi (nearest BTS is Saphan Taksin)
3. 342 Bar – Baan Wanglang
Riverside Rooftop Realness 📷: @hamzterzkub
Although only five floors up, this rooftop bar has a unique location on the opposite bank of the Grand Palace, and you quickly realise that height isn’t everything, especially when the golden spire of Wat Arun can be admired from this roof terrace. Proof that size doesn’t matter… So stop being so shallow!
With its regular happy hour drinks offer running from 6pm until 10pm, it’s quickly becoming a favourite with those staying in the Old Town who are looking to soak up Bangkok’s best sites whilst sipping on their cocktails.
342 Soi Wat Rakang, Arunamarin Road, Siriraj Bangkoknoi
Themed rooftop bars:
Couple of cold ones 🍻 📷: @ozmie666
If cocktails aren’t really your thing but you love a cold beer, head to Brewski. Bangkok’s first and only craft beer rooftop bar. There are over a hundred different brews available as well as some excellent imported ciders. They’ve tapped into the industrial chic theme that’s become popular in the city, which adds to the laid back atmosphere.
The bar is located 30 floors up on top of the Radisson Blu Plaza, and they do some excellent bar snacks, including spicy Isaan sausages. It’s a bit more casual than other bars, but the rooftop dress code still applies.
489 Sukhumvit Soi 27(nearest BTS Asoke)
2. The Speakeasy
Bangkok, Bangkok 📷: @callhousekeeping
This not-so-secret rooftop bar takes you back in time, to a Thai version of 1920s New York. It’s quirky but it works, thanks to the great staff and quality cocktails. The decor may be historically dubious but the drinks aren’t. You’ll find strong, well made classics on their comprehensive list, from a French martini to the prohibition-era inspired tipples.
Once you’ve enjoyed the sunset, be sure to check out the indoor bars that make up The speakeasy, which include a cigar lounge and impressive equipment for the bar to distil vodka and whisky.
Hotel Muse, 55/555 Langsuan Road (nearest BTS Chit Lom)
3. Above 11
Concrete jungle where dreams are made of 📷: @danild
Designers of rooftop bars in Bangkok definitely have a thing for New York, although it’s not immediately obvious that Above 11 is based on Central Park. The garden theme is fun, as are the cocktails, which include a selection of Peruvian and Japanese drinks.
The view isn’t half bad either, towards Siam and Bangkok’s impressive shopping district. Unlike some rooftop bars, this is definitely a place you could spend the entire evening rather than just a sunset cocktail.
Fraser Suites 38/8 ซอย สุขุมวิท Khlong Tan Nuea, Khet Watthana, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon
The new kid on the block:
1. Vanilla Sky
I’ll take the lot! 📷: @jay.5802
This rooftop isn’t named after the film but the colour of Bangkok’s sky at dusk. What it lacks in size (it’s on the 36th floor) it certainly makes up for in personality, but we’re sure you’ve heard that before! There are DJs most nights and a dance floor with views over the Asoke neighbourhood.
Original gin and tonics are the highlight on the drinks menu, including a chilli infused gin with just the right amount of kick. If you’ve visited the city before and want a new rooftop experience, it’s definitely worth checking out.
Compass SkyView Hotel Soi Sukhumvit 24, Wattana (nearest BTS Phrom Pong)
