The main event! (Thames riverside – Southbank) It wouldn’t be right not to mention the huge firework display that takes place on the River Thames by the London Eye. Officially knows as The Mayor of London’s firework display it’s partnering with Unicef this year. The ticket will cost you a tenner but it is one of the biggest and best firework displays in the world!

For the romantic/skint! (Primrose Hill) Head to Primrose Hill for fantastic views across London and watch all the firework displays for free. This has become a bit of a New Year’s Eve favourite so you won’t be alone on this 78 metre high hill! Enjoy the sociable atmosphere and bring your celebratory drinks with you.

As we write this post there are hostel beds available for New Year’s Eve in London…. Look and book here. You may just find that your hostel of choice has a party of its own going on – we’ve heard a rumour Clink78 is having a big one and Astor Hostels always has a packed board of parties (plus they’re in amazing locations dotted around London).
