Which iconic landmarks will be green on St. Patrick’s Day?
Every year on March 17, iconic buildings, statues and other landmarks around the world light up green in celebration of the popular national holiday, St. Patrick’s Day. From Christ the Redeemer in Rio to the Empire State Building in New York City, everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.
This year’s ‘global greening’ by Tourism Ireland looks set to be the biggest ever, with 60 landmarks already confirmed and many more expected. A number of landmarks will also see green for the first time, including the Colosseum in Rome and the Sacré-Cœur Basilica in Paris. Find out where you can find your nearest ‘green’ monument and be sure to check back as we add more.
