The Elephant Hostel Policy and Conditions:

Cancellation Policy for Fully Flexible Rate: 2 day before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the full amount of your stay.
Non-refundable: Payment has to be done upon reservation is made and it is not refundable in any circumstances.

Please note that we do not offer a pay-on-arrival option. Reservations are charged prior to arrival according to our payment policy, including reservations with free cancellation. In case of Free cancellation we will refund the amount charged.

Nice staff and overall pretty clean. You needed a roomkey to get in to the hostel so it felt safe to stay there. I slept in a 12 person female dorm, and I loved that the beds had their own curtain, plug, light and storage compartment. You also needed your keycard to enter your locker so nobody could steel your stuff. The locker had plenty of room for my backpack, but wouldn’t fit a suitcase. The room got hot during the night and the windows couldn’t open, so that was a downside. Do recommend!

The only CON was that the lights in the rooms are motion censored which is awful all night long if anyone goes to the bathroom or anything the rooms flood with light. Make sure to bring an eye mask. I think they should switch the motion censored lights for just lights that automatically turn off at like 22:00 or something and people have small nightlights and ppl can get around with their flashlights like other hostels. Anyways. Other than that it was fantastic.

This was probably one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. The vibe was so awesome. The reception, had this extremely cozy and well lit look where the walls were decked with renaissance style paintings all around. It had an amazing charm about itself, I can sit and work there the whole day and talk to people. Loved the experience. If I ever do visit Amsterdam again, I'm sure I'll stay here. Great service at the reception too, Filippe and the others. You guys rock !!
