The charges for Internet and storage for suitcases are steep. The place has amazing character in the old building. Two minute walk into central station - perfect. Little cafe in the sitting room well priced. Good hostel but expensive!

Lovely in every respect except for the horde of adolescent boys apparently on a school trip.

Actually ended up staying at the YHA central location, which is located just outside the railway station and it was great! The staff made some calls and was able to transfer my bookings from the Railway to the Central location. Room and bathrooms were clean. Large dining area and kitchen was fine.

A really nice, clean hostel. Not really a party environment, but that's what I liked about it. Would have loved to stay there longer if I could have afforded it. The price is reflective of the quality though - very worth it!

This is a great hostel with all the usual excellent YHA standards. Even though its next to the railway it is not noisy. If you are trying to decide whether to stay here or at the central YHA the railway YHA is significantly quieter but still close to the backpacker clubs.

the staff were very helpful. had never used a swipe card key - interesting experience for me. must remember to ask for the bottom bunk next time and x my fingers. this yha was easy for me to find and depart from to use the train to catch my plane. facilities were clean altho some occupants need to remember mummy (as in clean up after them) is not the reception staff or the managers ! will return the next time i come to sydney and recommend. sandy b

Not sure it deserves all the excellent reviews it receives. Staff weren't very friendly at all. Only one of them I found to be friendly or even willing to help at all. The whole hostel on whole is average, would probably look to stay somewhere else over this hostel if I had the option. The only positive is the proximity to the train station, china town etc.

Second best hostel I've stayed in Asutralia after Bounce in Sydney - the only thing missing is a common room where you can have a few drinks.
