If you’re anything like us, bathrooms are a BIG deal. I love surprises on my travels but definitely not in my bathroom. Luckily the new breed of hostels take their bathrooms seriously, with incredible amenities, spotless facilities and lust-worthy design. These are some of our favourites.
The rain dance shower at Sophie Hostel, Prague, gives new meaning to ‘a night on the tiles’. Add to that private rooms, modern, minimalist design and a five-minute walk to Wenceslas Square and it’s hard to find reasons not to go.
Bangkok Bed and Bike
Taking industrial chic to new levels (and your insta-feed) Bangkok Bed and Bike, is housed in a heritage building with traditional Thai design and modern amenities.
Ember Hostel, Denver, is all about luxury, from its 12 person spa jacuzzi to its firepit and complimentary espresso. The bathrooms are no exception with private rainfall showers and slate tiling.
When one mirror just isn’t enough, Czech Inn, Prague, delivers. Housed in an original 19th century Art Nouveau building, located in the Vinohrady neighbourhood, Czech Inn is on the doorstep to a haven of local treasures, green spaces and beautiful architecture.

Winning the award for most fun bathroom ever, Casa Gracia, Barcelona, features a metal donkey sink to wash your hands in. Add to that deluxe suites with complimentary amenities, daily housekeeping and stylish common areas and Casa Gracia is an amazing base for your Barcelona trip.
Freehand Los Angeles
Nobody does wellbeing and clean living better than Angelenos. At Freehand Los Angeles, USA, you can relax in style with modern bathrooms kitted out in earthy, bohemian decor that has a distinct Cali vibe. With its rooftop pool, flower shop and vintage store on-site and regular DJ gigs, you’ll probably spend more time at the hostel than out of it.
Amistat Island Hostel, Ibiza
There’s nothing quiet about the bathrooms at Amistat Island Hostel which are as fun and slick as their Ibiza home.
With a coffee shop on site, drool-worthy decor and a prime location in Austin’s artsy East side, you’d be forgiven for mistaking Native Hostel, for a boutique hotel (just more fun!).
The 3 Ducks Eiffel Tower
So Frenchy, so chic, this bathroom at The 3 Ducks Eiffel Tower is everything we’re lusting over right now – gloss, symmetry and monochrome.
We love Lisbon for its sultry glamour, its spirited energy and cool vibes – all of which is embodied at Lost Inn, Lisbon. No need to fight for mirror space in these bathrooms with high quality fixtures.
We love these dreamy tiles at Blue Hostel, Rome, which is housed in a former convent built during the 17th century and every room has an ensuite bathroom.
Rodamon Riad Marrakech
It would be easy to forget you’re in a hostel when you’re relaxing in the palatial surrounds of Rodamon Riad Marrakech Hostel. Their bathrooms are no exception where modern fixtures meet traditional design.
